Every year, between December 15th and April 15th, humpback whales mate and give birth in Maui waters. Thousands of whales travel down from Alaska every year to enjoy the protected, warm waters of Hawaii. Maui County’s shallower ocean floor is a hotbed of activity for these incredible creatures. This Maui kayaking whale watch and snorkel adventure is just the way to get up close and personal with these majestic creatures.

THE BOAT

Step aboard this gleaming, 65-foot catamaran for a whale watch to remember. THE TOUR

Two-hour tours depart out of Maalaea Harbor five times daily, from sunrise to late afternoon. You’ll spot unique whale behavior on each tour. And if you don’t, you’ll be invited aboard again free of charge. A marine naturalist is present on each excursion to narrate the ins and outs of what you see – from tail slaps to spy hopping. This tour also features a hydrophone (an underwater microphone), so you can listen to the reverberating songs of the whales beneath the surface.

WHAT TO KNOW
