We went on a rainy day, and it was kinda muddy and a little slippery but still cool. Bring good shoes or you’ll regret it.

Walking on ancient lava fields and witnessing the raw power of nature was humbling..especially on my feet. I should have worn better shoes.

Never thought I’d be excited about walking through what’s basically a giant rock garden, but this hike was incredible. Worth every penny just to see my wife’s face when our guide casually mentioned this was all technically “active” volcano. Don’t worry though, no actual lava – just lots of cool craters and prehistoric-looking forest.

Merry Christmas! The Kona Volcano Hiking Tour was breathtaking. The lava fields and craters were surreal, but the hike itself requires some energy and proper footing. Make sure to drink plenty of water and be prepared for uneven terrain. Our guide was great and shared a lot about the island’s volcanic activity and history of the islands.

For anyone that needs a good hike without worrying where to go, this is perfect! I felt pretty sedentary at the hotel pool and beach. I needed this, and it was better than I expected because of the views and nature. Thank you and we will be back.
